Physical therapy helps people maximize their functional quality of life.
Physical therapists provide services that develop, maintain and restore people’s maximum movement and functional ability. They can help people at any stage of life when movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, diseases, disorders, conditions or environmental factors.
In Saskatchewan, a medical referral is not required to get started with a physical therapist, but check with your insurance provider to determine if they require one for coverage.
Costs for physical therapy can vary depending on the injury/condition. See our fees for more information.
Your first appointment will take approximately 50 minutes. During this time, your physical therapist will work with you to assess your condition and perform a physical assessment. From there, they will give you a treatment plan and an idea on how many follow up appointments to expect.
Follow up appointments are not time-dependent. But most often will take approximately 20 minutes per condition.
