What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy helps people maximize their functional quality of life.

Physical therapists provide services that develop, maintain and restore people’s maximum movement and functional ability. They can help people at any stage of life when movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, diseases, disorders, conditions or environmental factors.

Do I need a doctor's referral to visit a physical therapist?

In Saskatchewan, a medical referral is not required to get started with a physical therapist, but check with your insurance provider to determine if they require one for coverage.

What are the costs of physical therapy?

Costs for physical therapy can vary depending on the injury/condition. See our fees for more information.

How long will my appointment be?

Your first appointment will take approximately 50 minutes. During this time, your physical therapist will work with you to assess your condition and perform a physical assessment. From there, they will give you a treatment plan and an idea on how many follow up appointments to expect.

Follow up appointments are not time-dependent. But most often will take approximately 20 minutes per condition.

What is the waiting time for an appointment?

Waiting times vary depending on the location and physical therapist however most wait times are short. Our friendly scheduling staff will help you find a time that works for you.

How many appointments will I need?

This question depends on your particular symptom and treatment plan. A physical therapist will be able to give you an approximate number of treatment appointments required after your initial assessment.

I have private medical insurance. Can I use it?

Of course. We are recognised by all the major insurance companies. Just check your own policy for its terms and conditions.

Can you bill my private medical insurance provider?

Payment for service is due at the time of appointment. We happily provide you with all necessary paperwork for you to submit a claim with your insurance company for reimbursement.

We are working on and will be able to bill most major insurers directly in the near future.
